Timepieces
Going against conventions, debunking habits, and playing with instruments both possible and impossible. This overt audacity is Louisa Marxen’s driving force. In Timepieces, cymbals and drums are accompanied by curious objects: a clock, mortar shell casings from the Second World War and even a bag packed with multicoloured ping-pong balls. Against a backdrop of original compositions by Catherine Kontz and Louis Andriessen, among others, the Luxembourgish musician performs magnificent combinations. Rhythms and percussion offer a one-of-a-kind sound experience that encourages us to reflect differently on our notion of time.
