In connection with CRACK, we’re offering an introductory workshop in Tai-chi, open to all, regardless of age or physical condition.
Originally from China, Tai-chi is a gentle martial art widely recognized for its beneficial effects on physical and mental health. Its slow, fluid movements promote concentration and relaxation and can also be used as a basis for self-defense.
The workshop blends tai chi gestures, martial arts and contemporary dance elements. Movements are performed in a mirror-like fashion, following the instructor, so you don’t need to have a very advanced level of English to take part.
Around the play À l’ouest d’Arkham, we invite you to discover the Call of Cthulhu tabletop role-playing game, inspired by the universe of writer H.P. Lovecraft.
A tabletop role-playing game consists in playing a character in a collectively imagined story, guided by a narrator (the game master). Using dice, character sheets and a rulebook, participants make decisions, face challenges and use their imaginations to the full.
In Call of Cthulhu, characters investigate strange phenomena in a world populated by monstrous creatures and occult powers that threaten to destroy humanity.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, you’re more than welcome to join us for a one-time session (one-shot) lasting 2-3 hours, in a friendly atmosphere at the Ariston bar. Two tables will be available: one for beginners, the other for those with experience.
The evening is organized in collaboration with “Bei de Minettsdäpp”, Esch’s meeting place for board game enthusiasts. The language of play will be adapted to suit participants’ preferences.
Around the play À l’ouest d’Arkham, the Escher Theater is screening John Carpenter’s cult film In the Mouth of Madness (1994), freely based on the world of writer H.P. Lovecraft.
