Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Who wrote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? This show re-enacts the negotiations preceding the composition of the UDHR. Portuguese company mala voadora sheds light on the fact that the undertaking of writing rights for everyone, inevitably excluded certain people during the process. They decided to set up several original drafting committees for the inhabitants of several European countries. Their different languages melt with each other into music. As if the artistic qualities of words could redeem their consequences. As if art could absolve the cruelty of our History. Could that sound be a new hymn for Europe?
