Borda
Lia Rodrigues, a leading figure in committed contemporary dance, works with her company in the heart of the Maré favela in Rio de Janeiro. With an irresistible collective strength, her shows often feature dancers covered in fabric or plastic materials or nude, bound indissolubly together by an intense and fervent closeness. Borda is more than ever in this vein. Dance here counters walls and rejection, through a universal community eager for movement, sharing and new horizons. Are borders an illusion?
