Like Queen Blood, which received a standing ovation last season at the Escher Theater, his ultimate show features an all-female cast, this time powered live by a DJ’s turntables. Astor Piazzolla : Tango Passion !
There is music playing, singing, dancing, and you are walking around the narrow streets of Buenos Aires tonight. Accompanied by an accordionist, a contrabassist and two virtuoso dancers, soprano Stephany Ortega brings to life the tireless inventiveness of Astor Piazzolla, the father of modern tango. This man achieved to capture the popular spirit of tango – a pillar of Argentinian culture – by expressing it through a new voice, with classic classical and jazz influences. The evening showcases a set of his most beautiful canciones to convey to us, with a little pop and electro touch, an endless source of emotions and sensuality.

Les chemins du tromboniste et compositeur de jazz sarrois Christof Thewes et du saxophoniste-compositeur italo-lorrain-luxembourgeois Luciano Pagliarini se sont déjà croisés par le passé, à l’occasion de projets musicaux d’une certaine envergure (ciné-concerts). Le samedi 24 février à 20h, on les découvre sur la scène de l’Ariston. Pour ce concert, Luciano et Christof évolueront en quartette, entourés du contrebassiste berlinois Jan Roder et du batteur luxembourgeois Michel Meis. Au programme: une musique éclectique, ouverte, dynamique et pleine de surprises…

Issu·es des Conservatoires des villes de Luxembourg, d’Esch-sur-Alzette et du Nord, les meilleur·es lauréat·es de l’examen national pour l’obtention du diplôme supérieur (année 2022/2023) sont placé·es sous le feu des projecteurs. Le public découvrira leurs talent et travail, avec le concours de la Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale.
Les solistes du gala des lauréats sont Katarzyna Kawinska au chant (Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg), Tracey Lamberty-Wohles à la trompette (Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg) Nicolas Leydenbach au piano (Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg) Catherine Origer à la flûte piccolo (Conservatoire de musique de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette) et Raphaël Clement à la contrebasse (Conservatoire du Nord).
La Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale est placée sous la direction de son chef de la musique, le lieutenant-colonel Jean-Claude Braun.
Yumé
Inspired by Japanese tales, Yumé narrates the journey of a heroine whose shadow is stolen. An initiatory quest awaits her, filled with mysterious and magical creatures. On stage, a succession of shadow and light interplays plunges us into the protagonist’s dream. Around the dancer, items and garments come to life, masterfully held by four black-clad artists hidden in darkness. Invisible to the naked eye, Japanese tradition names them Kuroko. This art of illusion carries adults and children away to fantastical lands between ocean and mountains, to put, literally, our heads into the clouds.

Für dieses Konzert greift die Harmonie Municipale d’Esch/Alzette in die Vollen: Sie spielt Klassiker, die jede:r schon mal als Ohrwurm im Kopf hatte, darunter Stücke aus Der Herr der Ringe oder Die Chroniken von Narnia. Auch den prägnanten Kompositionen, die John Williams für die Harry Potter-Filmreihe schrieb, kann das Publikum lauschen – und sich so nach Hogwarts in die Zauberschule träumen. Es braucht an diesem Abend für Klein und Groß tatsächlich nur wenige Töne, um sich in magische Welten entführen zu lassen. Begleitet wird die musikalische Reise durch atmosphärische Bild- Projektionen.

Beethoven tenait en très haute estime les idéaux de liberté et de fraternité. Les deux compositions choisies par l’Harmonie Municipale d’Esch/Alzette mettent en lumière les thèmes chers au grand compositeur allemand, tels que la volonté de justice, le courage politique et la solidarité illustrée par l’amour conjugal. L’ouverture Leonore n°3 de son opéra Fidelio s’inspire de l’histoire d’une femme déguisée en homme, engagée comme geôlier d’une prison, qui parvint à libérer son mari arbitrairement incarcéré. L’orchestre eschois interprète ensuite la dernière symphonie de Beethoven, la Neuvième, véritable appel à l’union universelle de toute l’humanité.

Insaciable
EN That dance fascinates. In a creation acclaimed at Sevilla Flamenco Festival, Lucía Álvarez La Piñona extends into movement and emotion the obsession that inhabits her: an obsession for desire and purportedly forbidden pleasures. Through several introspective sequences, she reveals herself without shame or modesty, at the same time vulnerable, excessive and animal. The steps, the guitar, and the full voices of five male interpreters echo the Andalusian artist’s powerful and carnal dancing. Almost a trance, to which the audience member is invited not as an outside look watching but as an insatiable heart as well, invited to blaze.
ES Lucía la Piñona, que se describe como “incansable, exce siva, pasional, sensible y contradictoria”, ha ido en busca de su ser y sus sentires más íntimos, más espirituales y más corpóreos, “dispuesta a empaparse, tambalearse, seducir y desplomarse” (Kiko Valle). En Insaciable, espectáculo estrenado con éxito en la Bienal de Sevilla y triunfante en el de Jerez, Lucía la Piñona explora sus emociones hasta los límites físicos y anímicos de su baile, sin decorado ni dramaturgia, en un viaje esencial construido sobre lo sensorial y guiado por el deseo y la curiosidad.
