« Jean-Claude Gallotta (...) déploie une amplitude électrique et se renouvelle une fois de plus avec une vibrante ardeur. (...) Hommage rendu. Hommage réussi. »
Gallotta? A name that revolutionised contemporary dance, subtly fusing desire, frenzy and gentleness. One enters this show a bit like in a movie theatre. In the half-light, antechamber to the imagination, light suddenly appears: no big screen here, but dance! With a troupe of nine dancers, Jean-Claude Gallotta celebrates his encounters with the directors who have mattered to him – Federico Fellini and Leos Carax, Jean-Luc Godard and Tonie Marshall … This homage gives birth to a joyful, carnal and intimate ballet. The choreographer’s voice-over takes on the tone of a shared confidence, conveying to us, like an offering, his love of cinema.
An introduction to the show by the artistic team will take place at 7.15pm (FR).
On a world tour, the celebrated Taiwanese choreographer Po-Cheng Tsai creates a ballet of rare intensity: 13 dancers plunge masterfully into the torments of separation.
And there was light! A choreographic explosion of intense joy, this choral show is an ode to performers, to youth and to dance in all its forms.
Freely inspired by the children’s tale Pinocchio and the commedia dell'arte, world-renowned Italian choreographer Sofia Nappi invites us to rediscover the child, impulsive and joyful, within us.
Patrick Bonté and Nicole Mossoux reinvent the work that made their success! Based on the universe of Renaissance painter Lucas Cranach, their show brings together an accumulation of sensual and troubling illusions.
